The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman announced the recall of 1172 abandoned vehicles since the beginning of this year, as part of the intensive inspection campaigns carried out by the teams working in the municipality, which target all areas in the emirate to preserve the aesthetic appearance and combat negative phenomena.
The Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector at the Municipality and Planning Department, Eng. Khaled Moeen Al Hosani, stressed that preserving the aesthetic appearance of the emirate and monitoring legal abuses are among the department’s most important priorities and in the first place in its work, explaining that the municipality assigned inspection tasks to competencies that continue its field campaigns around the clock to ensure that Vehicle owners adhere to clear instructions and monitor cases of neglected vehicles, which their owners left in parking lots and in front of homes without cleaning for a long time.
He explained that the inspection teams put stickers on the vehicles threatened with towing, asking their owners to withdraw them within a specified period of seven days.
He said that the department is constantly and diligently striving to educate the population about the negative consequences of leaving cars for long periods, as it is a suitable place for weak souls to commit crimes, in addition to distorting the aesthetic appearance and vacating regular parking spaces, which are the property of everyone.
Al Hosani called on citizens and residents in the emirate not to leave their vehicles abandoned, and called on everyone to help the working teams and report cases of abandoned vehicles by calling the toll-free number 80070.
